September is Library Card Sign-Up Month

Celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month with Yolo County Library 2025. Blue, purple, orange, and yellow diagonal stripes with the text across each line.
This September, Yolo County Library invites you to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month and discover how a single card can open the door to endless opportunities.

This year’s theme, “One Card, Endless Possibilities,” is a reminder that libraries are for everyone—no matter your age, background, or goals. Whether you are diving into a new hobby, searching for your next great read, brushing up on tech skills, or helping your child succeed in school, it all starts with a library card.

Join us throughout September for a special Library Card Sign-Up Month Scavenger Hunt! Learn what’s in your library, one clue at a time, and get a sweet treat when you finish.

This year, in recognition of Library Card Sign-Up Month and Banned Book Week, October 6 – 13, Yolo County Library will unveil a limited-edition card design that celebrates a core message of the American Library Association: “The right to read belongs to all of us and censorship has no place in contemporary society.” Stop by any of our branches or visit us online at YoloCountyLibrary.org to get yours today. Because with a Yolo County Library card, the possibilities are truly endless.

Yolo County Archives provides resources for UC Davis researchers on the history of the Black Community in Woodland

A recent article published online by UC Davis shows how our Yolo County Archives is a valuable resource for understanding our local history.

The article discusses the Archives' collections - how they were utilized by a group of UC Davis undergraduate and graduate students to develop a display at the Woodland Opera House and a curriculum about the Black community in Woodland. The article also discusses how their project fostered community connections.
