After two and a half years of work by part-time Archives staff, we are excited to announce that the Historical Museum Photo Collection has been fully processed and digitized. The collection consists of 4,251 black and white and color prints, tintypes, lantern slides, negatives, glass negatives, and scrapbooks transferred to the Archives from the Yolo County Historical Museum. The majority of the items are black and white prints. These photos chronicle historical events, places, and scenes from everyday life in Yolo County such as schools, buildings, churches, businesses, and homes; pioneer families; cars, wagons, trains, and other modes of transportation; agriculture and farms; celebrations and anniversaries; social clubs and activities. Want to see the photograph collection in person or have another research question? Contact the Yolo County Archives to schedule a research appointment. This collection was processed, cataloged, and digitized with support from the Friends of the Yolo County Archives. |
