Summer Reading Program

Are you signed up for the 2024 all-ages Summer Reading Program? 
 
Remember to complete the challenge and return to your local branch library by August 15 to collect your prizes (while supplies last) and be entered into the grand prize drawing.
 
Also, please fill out a short survey in English or Spanish to share your feedback about this year's program.
 
Across Yolo County, close to 5,000 people are participating in the Summer Reading Program. So far, they have read over 20,000 books and for more than 7,000 hours. Amazing!

Yolo Community Band Concert & Picnic

The Yolo Community Band will have a summer concert at the Gibson House.
 
Come early and enjoy a picnic in the park and explore the Gibson House's summer exhibition.Street and on-site parking are available.
 
Concert starts at 6 pm!

Cruisin' into the Next Chapter Classic Car & Truck Show
Saturday, August 24, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Join us for this free, family-friendly event at the Yolo Branch Library!
 
As in the past, we expect over 100 classic cars and trucks. There will be antique fire trucks, tractors, and gas engines as well as a Youth Lowrider Bike show.
 
There will be free balloon twisting, books, and activities for children.

Come see the Evolution of Sound exhibition at the Gibson House! 
 
This exhibition tracks the way that audiences have listened to musical performances from the 18th century to today.
 
Explore objects from opera to the electronic radio and see how one led to the other.
 
Learn about the development of the record player and the many different types of early sound recording showcased within the Yolo County Historical Collection.
 
Free for all ages.
