Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros

Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros is a yearly celebration that emphasizes the importance of literacy for children from all backgrounds while encouraging libraries and community organizations to inspire and empower new generations of achievers.

Children who attend these events will receive a free book and will participate in educational activities, watch a special performance at select locations, and listen to a story time program.

"Día de los Niños is an annual event dedicated to celebrating the joy of reading and highlighting the importance of children's literature. It is a special day where children and caregivers are encouraged to delve into the magical world of books and together foster a lifelong love for reading and learning. By immersing themselves in diverse stories, languages, and cultures, children can develop empathy, expand their knowledge, and develop critical thinking skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.” shares County Librarian and Chief Archivist Diana Lopez.

Ready, Set, Library!

National Library Week: April 7 - 13

National Library Week is an annual event that celebrates the role of libraries in our communities. It is a time to recognize the hard work of librarians and library staff and to promote the use of libraries by all members of the community. Libraries provide access to a wide range of information, including books, magazines, newspapers, learning kits, book club kits, online resources, and more. This information can be used for research, education, or simply for pleasure.
Ready, Set, Library! National Library Week
Libraries offer a variety of educational programs and services, such as author visits, storytimes for children, teen programs, computer classes, and craft activities. These programs and services can help people of all ages learn new skills and improve their education. Libraries also play an important role in preserving our cultural heritage by collecting and preserving books, manuscripts, and other historical documents.
Please join Yolo County Library Administration in expressing our appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our librarians and library staff.
