Student Success

Yolo County Library has a long history of working in partnership with public schools. The library serves as an extension of the classroom by providing students with access to books, computers, reading programs, technology support, and dozens of other important educational resources during out-of-school time.

The Student Success Initiative formalizes this ongoing relationship.  Three school districts, Davis Joint Unified, Winters Joint Unified, and Esparto Unified, are now participating in the program.  As part of this agreement, students can simply use their school ID to easily access online databases, use computers, and borrow items from the library.

Schools and libraries have found the Student Success Initiative supports our mutual goals of supporting traditional and digital literacy, creating a community of readers, empowering individuals with free access to information, building a welcoming place where reading, learning and imagination thrive, maximizing academic achievement, and preparing every child to lead a rich and productive life.
